Hey! I’ve got a 2019 Model X 100D and I’m heading out for a 3-week biz trip this Friday. I live in an apartment with no way to plug in my car and I’m not keen on paying idle fees for Charge Point, yknow? What can I do to keep the battery from draining while I’m away? I’m worried about coming back to a dead battery and don’t want the hassle of jump-starting it. Any tips?

If you turn off the car's extra features, the battery will only lose a small amount of power each day, so you can leave it parked for a long time without worrying. However, if you keep those features turned on, the battery will lose a lot more power. The car might automatically turn off these features when the battery gets very low.

I got you man, so if you disable features like Sentry Mode and climate control, you'll only lose about 0.5% of battery charge each day, making it easy to leave your car for a month. If you keep those features on, you could lose around 4-5% daily, but I believe they automatically turn off when your charge drops below 20%, so you should be good either way.

I've been in the same situation with my Model X, I had to go on a 1 month trip. So I set my car to Energy Saving mode and disabled Sentry Mode to reduce battery drain. I read online that you can also lower the charge limit to about 50-60%, and hey make sure it's fully charged before you leave. You should be fine for 3 weeks without needing to plug in.

Looks like your ride needs a little “adoption” while you're away;) Maybe find a friend with charging access and park it there for a bit. Or, just throw it in energy-saving mode and it should hold up fine until you’re back.
