So I’ve got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2021 Model X. The driver’s window is suddenly screeching when it goes down, and it’s never done that before. The window itself looks fine, no visible damage. Any chance someone’s encountered this before or has a clue what’s going on?

I've had this problem before. Applying wax didn't work, but cleaning the rubber seals around the window with alcohol did. I opened the window completely and used an alcohol-soaked cloth to wipe the rubber parts where the window moves up and down. Just look for the overlap of the glass and rubber near the side mirror and the back corner of the window. You'll notice dark grime on the cloth. After cleaning, my window is super quiet until now.

You can peek inside the track for any debris or try giving the window mechanism a little spray with some lubricant.

I’ve heard that the glass can sometimes be too close to the metal, which can cause screeching noises. If it’s barely hitting the metal, Tesla can adjust it for you. If you’re handy, you could also try adjusting it yourself.

Yup! If the glass is too close to the metal, that could definitely cause those screeching noises.
