My dad's Model X just hit 100k miles and the warranty is gone! Anyone else in this dilemma? What's the deal with repairs now? Should we get a third-party warranty or stick with Tesla service? Need some advice on how to handle so I can help my dad. Thanks!

I requested a pre-warranty-expiration inspection, but they simply stated that this is not something they do and closed the case. So I told them there was a noise coming from the front, the back, and the AC. I ended up with a new front drive unit and a new AC compressor. HA!

Have you considered the types of repairs that might be needed soon, and how does the cost of those compare with a third-party warranty?

Stuff like suspension issues or the Falcon Wing doors acting up can get pricey. Might be worth comparing that to a third-party warranty and see if it’s a better deal.

Congrats on hitting the 100k club—now it’s “choose your own adventure” time! If your dad loves surprises, stick with Tesla; otherwise, a third-party warranty might save some stress (and cash).
