No warm air up top! I'm having a windshield meltdown! I recently got a new one installed at a non-Tesla shop and now the top half of my windshield won't defrost or demist. It's like there's a giant dead zone in the middle. Is there a secret fan hiding under there that might have been disturbed during the install? Has anyone else experienced this?

That sounds frustrating! It's possible that the installation disturbed the defrost system, so I'd check with the shop that did the work, they might need to take another look.

I also noticed something interesting with my Model Y while defrosting the windshield, the left side cleared up so fast, but the right side took about 20 minutes longer. It finally dawned on me that the right side was still in the shade, even though both sides had frost. So, just a heads-up, the position of your car in relation to the sun can really affect how quickly the windshield defrosts.

It’s possible the fan might have been affected during the installation, or there could be a blockage. Have you checked to see if the air vents are clear?
