So my Model X touchscreen started bubbling after I had the eMMC replaced at a Tesla dealer. Tesla says fixing it will cost about $1.5k, but they claim it’s not related to the eMMC repair. Seriously though? Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m also considering the MCU2 upgrade, but it’s way pricier. Got any thoughts on which option I should go for and if it’s worth it?

Afaik, those are not air bubbles; instead, it appears that fluid is leaking. You should fix that immediately before the fluid begins to drip onto the console. Upgrading to MCU2 is the solution.

Ugh, that bubbling is the worst! It’s hard to believe it’s not related to the eMMC repair, right? If you’re considering the MCU2 upgrade, think about the long-term benefits like faster performance and extra features, it might be worth the splurge! Just weigh the costs and see what fits your budget.

I had that issue with my touchscreen in August, and when I finally upgraded to MCU2, it made a huge difference in performance and features. It’s definitely something to consider for the long run.

Upgrading to MCU2 sounds like a solid move, but did you notice any other improvements besides the performance boost?
