My Model 3 keyfob just died on me! I replaced the battery, but it's still a brick. Weirdly, no low battery warnings this time. The RFID still works to unlock the car and start it, but the buttons are dead. Is this normal? Could there be a setting I missed? Anyone else experience this keyfob problem?

Haha, I have tackled this before, so I firstly replaced the battery, and it still wouldn’t work properly. I ended up having to re-pair the fob with my car, which fixed the button issue. You can check your settings or re-syncing it to see if that helps.

This is a pretty common problem, I faced this three months ago or so , even after replacing the battery, the car kept complaining and the fob didn’t work as expected. You might want to check if the buttons are stuck or if the battery was a dud (especially if it came from Amazon, Lol). You should also consider getting a Faraday pouch for it, just in case it's staying in constant communication with the car and draining faster.

I am new on this forum, I also faced the same, and it turned out I needed to re-pair the keyfob with the car after replacing the battery.

Yikes, sounds like your keyfob is pulling a disappearing act! It’s odd that it didn’t give you any low battery warnings. If the RFID works but the buttons are dead, maybe it’s just having a mid-life crisis! :)
