Okay, so we just got our shiny new Model X, and it's already throwing a fit! It keeps saying the left rear restraint is defective, but no one's even sat there yet! What gives, Tesla? Anyone else had this issue? Is it a big deal?

Not familiar with that issue. It would be best to visit your dealer and have them check it. For now, try disconnecting your battery and reconnecting it. This might clear up the message.

I feel you. Around March this year, my Model X kept throwing a "defective seatbelt" warning for the passenger seat, even when my dog was the only one riding shotgun. Turns out the sensor was just a bit too sensitive, Lol. Luckily after a quick service visit, they fixed it, and now my pup can ride in peace with no more judgmental alerts :)

This is so so so frustrating! I've heard others mention similar issues, and it usually isn't a big deal just a glitch. You might want to check with Tesla for a quick fix

Hey, it's possible that your Tesla Model X is experiencing a seat belt warning system malfunction, which has been the subject of a recent recall. I think Tesla is addressing this issue with an over-the-air software update....or have you got it fixed?
