Thinking of ditching gas for a Tesla X but worried about those post-warranty bills? Any X owners out there wanna spill the beans on what youre actually shelling out each year to keep that electric beast running? Trying to figure out if the X is gonna break the bank after the warranty expires.

I haven't had my Model X long enough to know for sure, but with my Model S, replacing the cabin filters was all that was required for maintenance, and it wasn't too expensive.

To be plain honest with you, maintenance and the warranty period are pretty much unrelated. Routine maintenance isn’t covered by the warranty, so you’ll still need to handle things like tire rotations, brake checks, and cabin filter replacements. As for post-warranty repairs, it’s pretty tough to predict. Some Tesla X owners say costs can add up with issues like suspension or electronics, while others have fewer problems. It really depends man, but overall, electric vehicles tend to have fewer moving parts, so there's potential for lower maintenance compared to gas cars. I hope this helps

My car is still under warranty, and so far, I've only spent money on tires, wiper blades, windshield washer fluid, and cleaning supplies. I really need to change those cabin air filters since I’ve been putting it off, they're the originals from September 2019.

I’m also keeping a close eye on the 12V battery, as I've heard it's been an issue for others, but mine is holding up well for now.

I had to call a dent repair service after a rogue shopping cart hit the rear quarter panel, but thankfully, there’s barely any trace left. The car is still a gem :)

Given that routine maintenance isn’t covered by the warranty, what do you think is better, sticking with Tesla service for post-warranty repairs or exploring third-party options?

Sticking with Tesla service could ensure you get quality repairs, but exploring third-party options might save you some money. It really depends on what you're comfortable with.

I agree! Tesla service can be reliable, but third-party options can definitely save some money. It really comes down to balancing cost and peace of mind with the quality of repairs.
