So my wife just got a used MX last week. We washed it earlier today, and now there’s this THC service alert popping up on the dash in service mode only. User text states that the Cabin Climate Control needs service, weird since the AC is working fine. Any idea what’s going on and how we can get rid of this alert?

There just might be an issue with the air intake since it’s located deep in the dashboard. For a 2016 model, it could be accessible just behind the center MCU display. You can have that area looked at, especially since you’ve just washed the car and that might have caused some moisture to interfere with the sensors.

That might just be a minor glitch or something simple like a misreading. The THC alert relates to the cabin or battery cooling system, so even if the AC is working, there might be a sensor or software issue. Try a system reboot first. That often clears up random alerts.

How did you get rid of that service alert?
